Anthony “Tony” Ray Cothran, 66, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after an extended illness. He fought his battle to the end and was never a quitter.
Anthony was born on May 11, 1958, in San Diego, California. He began his career working as a bagger before becoming department manager for A&P and Kroger Grocery Stores. After serving 18 years, he retired from Lawson Products. He was a dedicated worker and loved his job.
Tony was a true craftsman and woodworker; the family has many pieces of furniture that he crafted that they will forever treasure.
He was an exceptional provider, husband, father, brother, papa and friend to all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am -12:30 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park at 1 pm.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother Peggy Pittman Cothran and his sister, Donna Cantrell.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Amy Honeycutt Cothran; son, Jonathan Cothran; daughter, Ashley Cothran-Lofland and husband Jonathan; granddaughter, Ellie Lofland; and father, Andrew Cothran.
