Barbara Ann (Beard) Ferrell

Barbara Ann Beard Ferrell, 84, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

Barbara was born on August 15, 1941, in the Beard Community of Eastover, North Carolina, where she lived her entire life. She was the daughter of the late Danford Beard and Helen McLaurin Beard. On October 9, 1966, she married the love of her life, Larry D. Ferrell, and together they shared 59 years of marriage.

Barbara retired from the Cumberland County Superior Court System after 32 years of dedicated service, where she worked as a Jury Coordinator. She was a faithful and active member of Lebanon Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Golden Club. Barbara loved the Lord and her church deeply, and her faith guided her throughout her life.

Barbara enjoyed an active social life and loved traveling to the beach, the mountains, and other destinations. She also enjoyed dining out and dancing, especially at the Sanford Enrichment Center, where she and Larry formed many cherished friendships.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Beard.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry D. Ferrell; her daughter, Donna Paliotti of New Bern; her son-in-law, Yogi Paliotti of Surf City; her granddaughter, Savannah Paliotti of Raleigh; and her grandson, John Paliotti of New Bern.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Lebanon Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
