Belvin Odom Obituary

Belvin Ledbetter Odom, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at his residence.

Ledbetter, as he was affectionately known, was preceded in death by his parents, Belvin and Annie Lloyd Odom, and his brothers-in-law Grady Lee, Billy Parker, and Phillip Parker.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Ledbetter was a graduate of Massey Hill High School. He devoted 33 years to Goodyear Tire, where he made lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues. Ledbetter also served faithfully as a deacon at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, reflecting his strong faith and dedication to his community. He had a passion for woodworking, fishing, landscaping, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, hobbies that reflected his love for creating, connecting with nature, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Parker Odom; his sister, Ann Lee; his brothers-in-law, Bobby Parker (Lynette), Eddie Parker (Marie), and Stephen Parker (Terri); his sister-in-law, Catherine Parker; and his best friend, Mickey DeCarlo (Janis). He was also a beloved uncle to numerous cherished nieces and nephews, and he leaves behind many loving cousins.

A memorial service to honor Ledbetter’s life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, 2220 Camden Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the Church.
