Ben Thompson, Jr.

Mr. Ben Thompson, Jr., 91 of Fuquay-Varina, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021. 

Ben was born on December 20, 1929 in Bullock County, Georgia to the late Benjamin Alexander Thompson and Nancy Mae Yarborough Thompson.

He was a loving husband, father and friend to all who knew him.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served in the Korean war with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church and he retired in 1987 from Ft. Bragg Forestry Division where he was as an Engineering Equipment Operator Leader.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jeanette Lewis Thompson; daughters, Cosette Grant and husband Wilson, Connie Long and husband Fred; grandchildren, Cheryl Grant and Lisa McCurry; great grandchildren, Sophia, Robin and Logan.
