Betty Jane (Beasley) Simmons

Betty Jane Beasley Simmons, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at her residence with her family by her side.

Betty was born on March 27, 1940 in Hoke County, to the late Chester Bradley Beasley and Ruby Bowyer Beasley.

She was a member of Suggs Grove Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir and taught the younger children’s Sunday School Class, as well as other activities in the Church until she became ill.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Suggs Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Walter Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, C.B. Beasley and Jack Beasley; sister, Delores Ellis and her grandson, John Randall Dees.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jessie Simmons; daughters, Beverly Hall and husband Dan, Angela Musselwhite, Jessica Pilcher and husband Brandon; son, Randall Dees; sisters, Joyce Bostic, Barbara Daniels, Helen Jackson and Micky McNeill; brothers, Wayne Beasley, Buckie Beasley and Sam Beasley; grandchildren, Lorie Ricks, Colter Dees, Candice Faircloth, Morgan Ratley, Daniel Hall, Abbigael Flynn, Jacinda Mattheu and Grace Pilcher.
