Bill Cyrus Preece

Bill Cyrus Preece, 66, of Lumber Bridge, NC, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at First Health Hospice in West End, NC, after an extended illness. 

Bill was born August 14, 1958, in Mannheim, Germany to Cyrus Smith and Inge Schwenzer Preece.  He was a graduate of Douglas Byrd High School and worked as a sales representative for Healy Wholesale Company.

Bill loved working on cars and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.  He was a selfless man who would do anything for anybody.  He had a big heart, loved country music and enjoyed his work, especially his customers.

Bill is predeceased by his father, Cyrus Smith Preece;  mother, Inge Preece; lifelong companion, Toni Twine; and great niece, Hannah McDaniel.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary Preece and Lisa Warner and husband, Chris; niece, Julie Sumners and husband, Lee; nephew, Kevin Tromanhauser and wife, Christy; several great and great, great nieces and nephews; his best friend, Brent Matthews; his beloved cat, “Mouse”, and a host of friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A joint graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm at Lafayette Memorial Park.
