Billy Ray Parker, 87, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Billy was born August 15, 1936, in Cumberland County to the late Terry and Kathleen Parker. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Parker, and nephew, Kevin Parker.
For over 25 years, Billy brought joy to others through flowers. Catherine and he owned Bordeaux Florist, Tiffany’s, and The Flower Shoppe at Eutaw.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Catherine Wilkerson Parker; daughters, Karen Parker Neal and Debbie Parker Carson (Rick); son, Jimmy Parker (Doreen); two granddaughters, Rachel Neal of Fayetteville and Sarah Lyde of Arizona; 2 great grandchildren, Whitten and Lily Lyda; brothers, Robert (Lynette) of Fayetteville, Eddie (Marie), and Stephen (Terri) of Wilmington; sister, Judy Odom (Ledbetter) of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends; and a special fur baby, Hayley.
A visitation will be held on Friday April 5, 2024, from 10am to 10:45am in Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Memorial Service starting at 11am; The committal service will be private.
