Brittany Nicole Edwards

Brittany Nicole Edwards, 35, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

Brittany attended Gray’s Creek High School and graduated from Terry Sanford High School.  She was the 2nd Miss Gray’s Creek after the new high school opened.  She was a veteran of the US Army and was the only female in her Airborne training class of 25 to finish the course at Ft. Benning, GA.  She graduated in the top 10% of her Basic Training class at Ft. Sill, OK.  Brittany was very involved in the Five Sparrows recovery program and was one of their first success stories.  She was always helping others and giving her testimony to assist others. 

Brittany had a love for animals and worked as a Veterinary Tech for several local veterinary offices most recently at the Blessed Oasis Pet Resort.

Brittany is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Patsy Linardy and Wallace Galloway; great grandparents, Vernon and Bernice Galloway; and paternal grandparents, Bill and Louise Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Maria Galloway Edwards; father and stepmother, Michael and Deneen Edwards; sister, Taylor Brawdy (Joseph); niece, Alauna Brawdy; paternal grandmother, Brenda Wheeler Jourden; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Lois Edwards; and a host of friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11 am at Fayetteville Community Church.  Burial will follow with military honors at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
