Carol Tanner Holloway, 77, of Stedman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Valley Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born on July 30, 1948, in Robeson County to the late Velma McLamb. She graduated from Hamlet High School in 1966 and dedicated many years of service to the Cumberland County Department of Social Services before retiring in 1997.
Carol will be remembered for her warm spirit and the love she poured into everything she did. She was an amazing cook, known for meals that brought family together, though she always had a special fondness for a sweet treat—especially a Vicky’s cinnamon roll. She enjoyed crocheting, watching westerns, working puzzles, and traveling to Sunset Beach and the mountains. Above all, Carol cherished her family and embraced her roles as a devoted mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel, with burial to take place afterward at Lafayette Memorial Park.
In addition to her mother, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved family members who welcomed her home.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Dennis Holloway (Cindy); daughters, Diana Holloway (Sasha), and Brandi Holloway; sisters, Dianne Hatcher (Curtis), and Wanda Jacobs (Raven); brothers, Keith Tanner (Jerri) and Bobby Tanner (Jane); grandchildren, Abagayle, Kaitlyn, Gracie, Emma, Trace, and Charlotte; and a great-grandchild expected to arrive in July.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
