Carolyn Jean (Horne) Spence

Carolyn Jean Horne Spence, 85, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Saturday, Aug 23, 2025, at Carolina Inn.

Carolyn was born November 23, 1939, in Cumberland County to Houston and Estelle Spell Horne.  She was a member of Northwood Temple.

She is predeceased by her husband, Jim Spence; her brother, W.D. Horne; and sister, Judy Benton.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Terry Hubbard, Gary Hubbard, and Larry Hubbard (Joyce); sisters, Gretta Hall (Hooper), Jewel Horne, Shelby Threatt (Jim), Mae Simpson (Ron); brothers, Curwood Horne (Elizabeth), and Rodney Horne (Susan); and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11 am at Northwood Temple.  Burial will follow at Fisher Cemetery in Stedman.

The family wishes to thank the exceptional staff and caregivers at Carolina Inn for their love and care for their mother.
