Carrie (Addison) Canady

Carrie Addison Townsend Canady, 93, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Carrie was born on May 4, 1931, in Robeson County, one of 13 children born to the late John Addison and Carrie McArthur Addison and was the last one to pass away.

She received a bachelor’s degree in Education from Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC  and retired as a school teacher. She was a Jehovah's Witness and a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 71st School Road.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025  at 4 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 3265 Cumberland Road, Fayetteville, NC

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Canady and her son, Robert Canady, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Derek Townsend and wife Leslie; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Canady; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
