Cecil Thomas Williamson, 86, of Eastover passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at his home.
Cecil was born October 30, 1934 in Williamson’s Crossroads located in Columbus County, NC to the late Rebecca “Bessie” Rouse Williamson and Jesse Floyd Williamson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Cribb Williamson and twelve siblings.
Cecil was an Army Airborne veteran with the 88th Abn. AA Bn. He was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and a faithful member at Temple Baptist Church for 62 years.
Cecil was a retired service manager with Ed Mac Truck Sales & Service and later worked at Bleecker.
He was an avid golfer with the Sandhills Seniors achieving 3 hole in ones during his lifetime. Cecil was an outdoors sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Cecil was a former member of the Fayetteville Optimist Club.
He loved and supported his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all their activities.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:00 am at Lafayette Memorial Park with the Rev. Brian Dawson, officiating.
Cecil is survived by his daughters, Yvonne Williamson Bain and husband, Eugene and Tammy Williamson Clay and husband Stephen; sister, Carolyn Cooey of Brunswick, GA; grandchildren, Dr. E. Eugene Bain, III and wife Allison, Courtney Elisabeth Bain, Kristen Lane and husband Jake, Justin Shaw and wife Brittany; great-grandchildren, Jacob Lane, Grady Lane, Charlotte Bain, James Bain, and Madison Shaw.
