It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected and all too soon passing of Jonathan Canady, on March 17, 2025, at the young age of 36.
Jonathan was a man with a huge heart, free spirit, and captivating smile. His greatest passion in life, from the time he was a little boy, was all things horses. Growing up in and around the barn - he took an interest in shoeing horses and went on to become an incredibly gifted blacksmith by trade.
His proudest moment in life was becoming a father, and sharing his love for all animals and the outdoors with his daughter Josie.
Jonathan is survived by his wife Tyler and daughter Josephine Mae; mother, Lisa Cooper York (Chris); father, Jonathan Canady (Kim); bonus mom, Nikki Cannon; brothers, Dylan Jackson, Caden York, Dalton Canady; sister, Charlize Canady; maternal grandparents, Tommy and Donna (Susie) Cooper; paternal grandparents, Charles and Linda Canady; bonus grandmother, Caverlen Locklear; Uncle Michael and Bonnie Cooper; Aunt Christina and Steven Jackson; loving cousins, many friends and loyal companions Layla, Riata and Chuck.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Breezewood Church (3337 Legion Rd. Hope Mills, NC 28348) on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 4pm.
