Charles Allen Guy, Sr.

Charles Allen Guy, Sr., 85, of Fayetteville NC passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Autumn Care of Fayetteville after a decline in health.

Charles was born September 30, 1937, in Cumberland County, NC to the late Kathryn and Daniel Marsh Guy.   Charles was a graduate of Seventy First High School and obtained a Master of Arts degree from East Carolina University (formerly East Carolina College).   Charles had a four-decade career with North Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation and retired as the Assistant Regional Director.  Charles grew up on a dairy farm with his brothers and enjoyed fishing, photography, gardening, bird watching and keeping his cars in immaculate condition.

Charles was preceded in death by his brother Philip Marsh Guy, Sr. and a grandson, Gavin W. Guy.  Charles is survived by his wife, Billie G. Guy, brother Dan M. Guy (Terri) of Santa Fe, NM, children C. Allen Guy, Jr. (Kim) of Tampa, FL,  Stephen M. Guy (Jennifer) of Raleigh, NC and Laurie K. Shepherd (George) of Fayetteville, and stepdaughter Cammie O’Brien (Tommy) of Fayetteville, and grandchildren Danielle Ellzey (Aaron), Devin Guy, Carson Shepherd, Charlotte Shepherd, Colebank Guy, Garrett Guy, Bryson Guy and step grandchildren Anna Yates (Benjamin) and Benjamin O’Brien and nephews Philip M. Guy, II (Lisa) and Darby O. Guy.   Charles enjoyed the company of several beloved dogs, including the late Copperfield.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Fear Valley Hospice.   Online condolences may be sent to www.jerniganwarren.com.

There will be a private burial followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, Fayetteville, NC with a family visitation afterwards.
