Charles Harold Nance, 89, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side.
Harold was born on January 3, 1934 in Stokes Co. N.C. to the late, Raymond Curtis Nance and Gertrude Nance.
He retired from the U.S. Army as MSG after 21 years of service. He then attended Fayetteville Technical Community College where he received a business degree and two other degrees.
He loved gardening and repairing TV’s and all other appliances. He was a member of Arron Lake Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and served with the AWANA. He enjoyed bowling and was the secretary and manager of the Arron Lake Baptist Church Bowling League.
Harold was a loving husband, father, Opa, brother and friend to all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger C. Nance.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eva Nance; sons, Steven Nance and wife Sheryl, Michael Nance; daughter, Tanya Nance; brother, Curtis Nance; grandchildren, Justyn Beeler, Benjamin Nance, Leah Lawless, Andrew Nance, Nicole Moore, and Josh Goldman.
