Charlie Glenn Neal went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 15, 2025. Glenn was born in Warren County, NC on June 11, 1931, to Vance and Kitty Clyde Neal. He married Hannah, the love of his life, in 1955 and they had three children: Charles, Alan, and Susan.
Glenn worked for Carolina Telephone for 43 years as a cable foreman.
He was always ready for a conversation and was known for being friendly and caring. He spoke often of growing up in Warren County and shared many fond memories of his years working at the telephone company.
He loved working in the garden, spending time in the mountains, and serving at Cedar Falls Baptist Church. Driving the bus for the KIT Club on their many adventures was among his favorite activities.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, teaching lessons through example. Love and support were freely given to his children and grandchildren.
The most important thing in his life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. His life was a testimony of living by Scripture. He loved his wife and family well, had a heart for widows and orphans, and supported mission work in any way he could. He sang in the church choir for 70 years, taught Sunday School throughout his adult life, and served in every way he could to honor God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah Neal; his parents, Vance and Kitty Clyde Neal; and his siblings, Edmond Neal, Florence Thompson, Bill Neal, Kitty Rose Wester, and Justine Bolton.
He is survived by his children, Charles Neal (Carrie), Alan Neal (Lisa), and Susan Herndon (Mark); his grandchildren, Heather Pantley, Caleb Neal (Taylor), Jacob Neal (Joanna), Daniel Neal (Kortney), Jason Neal, John Herndon, and Beth Herndon; and his great-grandchildren, Dozier, Jaden, Eastyn, Turner, Tally, and Walker, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all those who helped Glenn stay active in his later years with such care and compassion. You all held a special place in his heart.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 12 noon at Cedar Falls Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M.
