Daniel "Dan" Frazier Spears

Mr. Daniel "Dan" Frazier Spears, 83, of Fayetteville, NC, died Friday, May 24, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.  

Dan was born October 22, 1940, in Fayetteville, NC to the late Luther Roland Spears and Hattie Esther Smith Spears. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Roland Spears. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Dan was the owner and president of his business, Dan Spears Painting Co. Inc of Fayetteville, and a member of Church of the Open Door.

Dan is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sylvia J. Spears; children, Lisa Tonelli (Mario) of Thompson's Station, TN and Mark Spears (Lisa Kivett) of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Jean Lathan (Jim) of Cary, NC; sister-in-law, Gaye G. Spears; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Lindsey and Marin Tonelli and great-grandson, Cyrus Henry; along with a host of nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Church of the Open Door with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Open Door, 4445 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville, NC 28314.
