David O'Neal McMillan

David O’Neal McMillan, 87, of Fayetteville, NC went to be with our Lord on June 19, 2024.

David was born in White Oak, NC to Austin and Mary Catherine McMillan on February 6, 1937.  He had five sisters Hilda, Betty, Peggy, Faye and Brenda. David married Priscilla Britt on May 2, 1959. They had four children, Elizabeth and her husband Joseph, Christina, Amanda and James and two grandchildren, Christian and Jessica. 

David joined the Air Force in 1956. When he left the Air Force, he went on to work for Sunbeam as an electrical engineer. He owned McMillan Landscaping, McMillan Enterprises and O’Neal’s Country Kitchen. His faith was strong and was proud to be a Deacon at White Oak Family Worship Center. He loved throwing big cookouts to show off his BBQ skills. His absolute favorite pastime was fishing at Harkers Island. He leaves us a legacy of a great love and respect for God, family and country. He always was there for anyone who needed help. He will be dearly missed but we find peace in knowing he has joined his beloved wife in Heaven.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 4 to 6 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 11 am at White Oak Family Worship Center, 1944 Burney Rd. White Oak, NC 28399.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church cemetery fund (Irrigation System).
