Deborah Lynn (Bowman) Bordwell

Deborah Lynn Bordwell, 68, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Womack Army Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on November 6, 1956, Deborah was the daughter of the late Lois and John Wesley Bowman. Throughout her life, she exemplified compassion, kindness, and selflessness. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Deborah was known for her giving spirit—never hesitating to support those in need, even at her own expense. Her joy came from bringing happiness to others.

Deborah will be fondly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Foy Frasier.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 28 years, Bryan Lanier; her children, Jennifer LaMarca, Michelle Richards, and James LaMarca; grandchildren, Breonna, Daniel James, Klarabelle, and Isaiah; brothers, John Bowman and Billy Bowman and their spouses; sisters, Shirley Morlang and Sandy Rose Compton and their spouses; a host of nieces and nephews and their spouses; great nieces and nephews; and her extended family and friends.

To honor Deborah’s legacy of generosity, the family encourages donations to a local food bank in her memory—reflecting her passion for giving back and helping others.

“Do not mourn her, but rejoice in the sound of her voice.”

Deborah’s final resting place will be in Virginia Beach.
