Deborah Williford Obituary

Mrs. Deborah Lynn Williford, 64, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 5, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, with her husband, Richard, and her children, Christie and Shane by her side.

Deborah, known by Debbie, was born on July 30, 1956 in Wilson, NC, the daughter of the late Bishop Herbert William Harrell and Maggie Pearl Harrell.

Debbie was a loving wife, mother, Nannie, Nana and a dear sweet friend, and will live on in the hearts and minds of all that knew her.  She was a faithful witness of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ throughout her whole life.  She was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family.  She set the example for her children, and grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.

Debbie and Richard Williford served as Pastors in the Church of God for 41 years before retiring in May, 2021.  They served as lead Pastors in Nashville, Roanoke Rapids, Wilmington-Pine Valley, and Fayetteville-Praise Fellowship.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Praise Fellowship Church of God.  Officiating will be Bishop Melvin Shuler.  The service will be followed by a time of visitation with the family.  The family will have a private burial at the Pate family cemetery in Goldsboro on Sunday.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Richard N. Williford II, just one month before being married for 47 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Christie Williford and Michelle Whitfield of Burgaw, NC; son, Shane Williford and wife, Megan of Rocky Point, NC; sister, Tonya Harper and husband, Bruce of Smithfield, NC; grandchildren, Sydney Whitfield, Asia Whitley, Jalen Wells, Ethan Williford and Kayla Williford; nephew, Jonathan Harper and wife, Stephanie; niece, Amanda Norris and husband, Jonathan.
