Derek Dean Lauterbach

Mr. Derek Dean Lauterbach, 41, of Fayetteville, NC, and formerly of Watseka, IL, passed away on November 4, 2023, at his home. 

Derek was born September 25, 1982, in Watseka, IL, to David and Debbie Lauterbach.  He served in the US Army as an 11-Bravo in the 82nd Airborne.  Derek was a concrete finisher and tile setter by trade.  He loved music and playing his guitar and keyboard, as well as practicing in a band.  He enjoyed skateboarding, cycling, and traveling.  Derek was a free spirit with a loving heart.  He was loved by many and will be missed by all. 

Derek is survived by his parents; David and Debbie Lauterbach of Fayetteville; brother Joshua Lauterbach of Wilmington, NC; niece Lily; nephew Wyatt; aunts and uncles; great aunts and uncles; and many cousins. 

Derek was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russell and Jean Lauterbach; maternal grandparents, Charles and Bonnie Gregory; and aunt, Sheri Gregory Bray.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
