Donald Lee Johnston

Donald Lee Johnston, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Born on November 18, 1934, in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, Donald was the beloved son of the late Earl and Bertha Bean Johnston. A proud patriot, Donald honorably served his country in the United States Army, retiring with distinction at the rank of First Sergeant (1SG).

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Ursula Krug Johnston. Together, they built a life filled with love, strength, and unwavering dedication to family and country.

He is survived by two daughters, Doris Richey and husband James of Cameron, and Elaine Lewis and husband Wesley of Spring Lake; a sister, Alice Bickley of New Jersey; three cherished grandchildren; and four adored great-grandchildren.

A joint Memorial Service to celebrate the lives of Donald and Ursula Johnston will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10:00 am at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, where Donald will receive full Military Honors in recognition of his service and sacrifice.
