Doris Eilene Bubar of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother and a great friend.
Doris was born on November 10, 1938, in Longview, Washington, to Robert Lewis Warner and Leona Letta Marques. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years, Clarence Lee Betz, a Navy Seal.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Kendall Bubar, a retired Navy Warrant Officer. Mrs. Bubar is also survived by her daughter, Laurie Lee Whitaker and husband Steven; her son, Clarence Lee Betz Jr. and his wife Kerry; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Bubar worked for over 20 years for TC Worthy Grocery Store in Tecate, California. She was active in her community where she lived. In San Diego she was part of the Navy Seals Wives Club; in South Carolina she was a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered her time working at the Sumter public library in South Carolina. Mrs. Bubar assisting students having difficulty in reading while living in Lebanon, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11 am at Covenant Love Church. Burial will be held at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
