Faye (Livengood) Humphrey

Faye Livengood Humphrey, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Faye was born on July 18, 1939, in Surry County to the late D.A. Livengood and Myrtle Badgett Livengood. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Gerald F. Humphrey, and they shared 64 devoted years together. In 1977, they moved to the Fayetteville area, where they became active members of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. Faye had a deep love for the Lord and faithfully served Him through her church, especially enjoying singing in the choir.

Faye enjoyed a distinguished career in banking and retired as Senior Vice President of Progressive Savings and Loan in Lumberton.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by all her siblings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Bunn, Carol Chance, Bonnie Suggs, and Ronda Prentzas, her brother, Hassell Livengood and her grandson, Alex Humphrey.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gerald F. Humphrey; her sons, Grant Alan Humphrey and wife Kerry, Todd Lee Humphrey and wife Marie, and Steven Gerald Humphrey and wife Laura; her grandchildren, Karsie Lowe, Jordan Barr, Jake Mozena, Samantha Humphrey, Joshua Humphrey, Cameron Humphrey, Emerson Humphrey, Garrett Humphrey, and Caroline  Humphrey; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in the Gathering Hall at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary, with entombment to follow in the Church Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Faye’s memory to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Westmont Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28305.
