Obituary

Frances (Fran) Etta Marie Hall Ramsey, 69, passed away after a sudden illness on November 9, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, with her husband, daughter, and son-in-law at her side.

Fran was born November 21,1951, in Fayetteville, NC, the oldest child of the late Marvin Dewy Hall and Frances Elizabeth Villa Hall Blanton.

Fran is survived by her husband Charles (Rick) Ramsey of Cabool, Missouri; her daughter, Tania Marie (Ron) Turransky of Clarksville, TN; stepson, Derek Ramsey Dolin and granddaughter Leia Dolin of Warrenton, VA; her brothers, Rick (Tanya) Hall of Chesterfield, VA and Ronald Hall of Fayetteville, NC; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Fran grew up in Fayetteville, NC, attended Reid Ross High School, and later attended Fayetteville Technical Institute where she obtained her High School Diploma and Cosmetology license.

Fran worked as a Pharmacy Technician for many years in Fayetteville and Dunn, NC.

In 1987, Fran married Charles (Rick) Ramsey in Fayetteville, NC. In 1990, they were reassigned from Fort Bragg, NC to Heidelberg, Germany. She began a Civil Service career at the 130th Army Hospital in Heidelberg, as a Medical Receptionist 1990-1993; she also worked at the Topographic Engineering Center at Fort Belvoir, VA as an Administrative Assistant from 1995-2007; and as an Executive Assistant from 2007-2018(retired) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

After retirement, Fran was able to express her love and passion for antiques and fabric by opening Knot Enuff Quilts and Antiques in Cabool, MO. She opened the store November 3, 2018. She shared many times, “This is something I’ve always wanted to do all my life, my grandma sewed, and I sewed when I was a kid. I wanted to offer very affordable fabric so everyone can enjoy quilting and sewing.”  As a person who loved people and sewing, it was a natural thing for her to combine them all in one place. Many thanks and appreciation to her friends, Jennifer, Irma, Maggie, Becky, Lisa, her husband Rick, and daughter Tania for all their love and support since the beginning. She couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you to all the friends and patrons that blessed her with fellowship and friendship. She truly enjoyed seeing each of you and sharing in the love of quilting.

Fran was the foundation to her family. She was strong, supportive, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her dedication and loyalty to her family and friends is a genuine example of who she was. She always had a smile on her face that would lift your spirits, beautiful inside and out. She was fun, witty, wise, and adventurous, along with having a true sweet, kind, polite, and considerate spirit. She had a huge heart and wanted to care and love for anyone who would let her, she truly loved people and animals, friends and strangers alike. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her smile and love will forever be in our hearts and missed beyond the words of time.
