Obituary

CSM (Ret.) Freddie Rocco Navarra, 88, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Freddie was born on April 20, 1937, in Everett, Massachusetts, to the late Fredrick and Lena Navarra. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Following his military retirement, Freddie continued his career at Borden Chemical.

A man who never slowed down, Freddie later discovered a deep passion for community service. After retiring from Borden Chemical, he devoted himself to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity Restore on Bragg Blvd, where he served faithfully for the past ten years. Volunteer work became his full-time commitment, as he worked nearly every day of the week.

Freddie held a strong belief in the importance of family. He deeply cherished his grandchildren and treasured time spent with them. He also enjoyed traveling back to Massachusetts to visit family. When not working or volunteering, Freddie could often be found relaxing and swimming in his pool.

In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sieglenda Navarra; his son, Josef Roy Navarra; and his brother, Thomas Navarro.

He is survived by his daughter, Sally Navarra Zufelt (David); grandchildren, Aaron, Freddie (Paige), and Melissa (Emilio); great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Isabella, and Maren; and his sisters, Rose Capone and Sally Navarra.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity, an organization that held a special place in Freddie's heart. https://www.fayettevillenchabitat.org/donate
