Ginko Reeder Obituary

Ginko Imamura Reeder, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026.

Ginko was born on March 12, 1931, in Kumamoto City, Japan, to the late Kazuo and Fumiko Imamura. She was a woman of deep faith and quiet strength. Ginko placed great value on education and generously shared her time volunteering in schools. She found joy in sewing, gardening, cooking, reading, and—most of all—spending time with her beloved family.

She was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and an active member of the Japanese Women’s Club, where she formed lasting friendships and connections within the community.

In addition to her parents, Ginko was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edward M. Reeder, Sr.; her daughter, Rosemary Reeder; her sister, Atsuko Yoshida; and her granddaughter, Caroline Harsant Whitley.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Harsant, and her husband, Dr. David Harsant; her son, MG (Ret.) Edward M. Reeder, Jr., and his wife, Adrian; her brother, Masanori Aritsugu of Tokyo, Japan; grandchildren, Laura Reeves (Daniel), Edward Reeder, III, Jennifer Matthews (Brendan), Stewart Harsant (Amy), Morgan Reeder, and Andrew Cin-Walker (Hannah);great grandchildren, Carly Reeves, Sydney Matthews, Colin Matthews, Bo Reeder, Elliott Reeder and Emma Caroline Harsant, all of whom will cherish her memory and legacy.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. in the Parish Hall at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
