Our family is heartbroken to announce the death of Glenn George Gehm; Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend. Glenn age 73, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after an unexpected illness. Although Glenn is gone from us, small pieces of him live on in each of the lives he touched.
Glenn was born January 14, 1949, in Montgomery County, PA. to Siegfried Peter and Irene Gehm. Glenn is a US Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal. Glenn retired from Civil Service at Ft. Bragg and from Kelly-Springfield Tire Company.
When Glenn was not at work he could be found outdoors fishing and hunting or in his garage working on yet another project. There was never a shortage of projects; cars, motorcycles, trucks, trailers, pig-cookers; the list goes on. As an excellent mechanic and fabricator, Glenn’s skills were always in demand. A passion, near and dear to Glenn and Karen is ice hockey. They are avid Fayetteville Marksmen Hockey Fans and, as season ticket holders, rarely miss a game.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen; three sons, Richard Litka (Roberta), Russ Litka (Pamela) and Randy Litka (Brenda); daughter, Tana Davis (Steve); sister, Judy Coots (Ken); 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 niece and 2 great nephews.
