Glynda Jewel Faircloth McLaurin was born on February 9, 1941, in Cumberland County, the fifth of six children to Miles and Cladie Faircloth. On September 19, 2025, at the age of 84, she entered her eternal reward at her home in Wade, NC, surrounded by her loving family.
After graduating from Roseboro-Salemburg High School in 1959, Glynda began her career with North Carolina Natural Gas. She later joined the Public Works Commission of Fayetteville, where she served faithfully as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement in 2001, after 37 years of dedicated service.
On May 7, 1961, Glynda married the love of her life, T.C. McLaurin, Jr., whom she had met at an Oral Roberts healing tent crusade. They shared 57 years of marriage, building a family and a life grounded in faith and love.
A lifelong woman of faith, Glynda was a longtime member of Mount Carmel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Fayetteville, where she served in many roles through the years. In recent years, she worshiped with Baywood PH Church. She found joy in her family, cherished time spent cooking and baking, tending her garden, traveling, and reading her Bible in the sunroom she loved so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Donnie Faircloth, Jacqueline Chestnut, and Faye Fisher; and her beloved husband, T.C. McLaurin, Jr.
Glynda is survived by her brother, Bud Faircloth and wife Judith; her sister, Mary Lou Brock and husband Coy; her children, Tommy McLaurin and wife Carol, Laurie Devane and husband Kevin, and Sandra Treva and husband John; seven grandchildren, Miles Devane and wife Katie, Ricky Treva and wife Kristy, April Dies and husband Nathan, Ashleigh Anderson and husband Andrew, Jessica Worley and husband Justin, Courtney Steeves and husband Brendan, and Emaleigh Smith and husband Casey; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, September 22, 2025 from 6 to 8pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2025 at 2pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
