SGM (R) Gunther B. Monteadora, age 81, of Fayetteville passed away on the 30th of January, 2023.
Gunther was born in Hamburg, Germany and came to America at age 17. Gunther joined the Army and served his country honorably for 30 years.
Gunther was preceded in death by his mother, Melitta Monteadora, step-father, Jose Monteadora, his father, Otto Thieme, and his sister, Giesela Krauss and husband, Udo. He is survived by his loving wife, Karin; daughter, Carol Moniz and husband, Wayne; brother, Joe Monteadora; sister, Elizabeth Monteadora; grandson, Adam Moniz and wife, Allison; granddaughter, Natasha Flowers and husband, Ben; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Reagan Flowers, Nolan and Charlotte Moniz; and niece, Annette Krauss.
A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg, NC.
