Mr. Harold Tolar, a beloved resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the age of 86, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Harold's life was a testament to his dedication, commitment, and unwavering love for his family, community, and his various affiliations.
Born on August 15, 1937, in Fayetteville, Harold was the son of the late Franklin Highsmith Tolar and Jeanette Davis Tolar Wood. He was a dedicated family man, known for his deep love and care for his loved ones. Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane McQueen Tolar, his son, Franklin Harold Tolar, and his son-in-law, Wayne Eaton.
Harold dedicated 37 years of his life as a Nationwide Insurance Agent, providing guidance and support to countless families in securing their futures. His commitment extended beyond his career. He was a proud member of the Phoenix Masonic fraternity and the Fayetteville Jaycees, where he built lasting friendships and contributed to the betterment of his community.
Harold is survived by his adoring daughters, Deborah Tolar Wright (husband Dr. Brian Wright) of Mechanicsville, VA, Sharon Tolar Eaton of Fayetteville, and Susan Tolar Walters of Wilmington. He leaves a legacy through his grandchildren, Jennifer Molnar (husband Josh), Julia Baylor, Domenico Grillo, Sophia Grillo, Andrew Walters, Christopher Eaton, and Cyndy DeGiacinto, along with seven cherished great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Jean McNeill and Frances Tolar Wingfield.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service in the Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. The burial will take place at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery, 2881 Gilespie St., Fayetteville, NC 28306.
Mr. Harold Tolar will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a pillar of his community, and a compassionate insurance agent who touched many lives. His legacy of love, dedication, service, and involvement in his community will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
