Helen Ruth (Torrans) Hill

Helen Ruth Torrans Hill, 90, of Fayetteville, NC, died Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Helen was born November 29, 1934, in Duplin County, NC, to the late Samuel Leslie Torrans and Mattie Spell Torrans.  She worked with her husband for many years in his veterinarian practices assisting him as receptionist and bookkeeper.  Helen was kind, loving, and easy going.  She loved her family and was always available to help them.  She was an avid reader, not leaving home without a book or her Kindle. 

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack V. Hill and her brother, Samuel Edward Torrans.

Helen is survived by her sons, Dr. Samuel C. Hill, IV (Karen) and Dr. Ashley Hill; daughter, The Honorable Superior Court Judge Claire V. Hill; grandchildren, Grayson Hill, Sydney Hill, Owen Hill, Emery Hill, and Elise Hill; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Red Hill Universalist Church Cemetery, 7031 Taylors Bridge Hwy, Clinton, NC 28323.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303 or to the Child Advocacy Center, 222 Rowan St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
