Hubert Englebert Obituary

Mr. Hubert Clinton Englebert, Sr., 87, of Fayetteville died November 19, 2018.

He was born in Millers Creek, NC to the late Roland and Athaliah Englebert.

At 19 he joined the US Air Force where he proudly served his country for 20 years before he retired. He was a Vietnam War Veteran where he served two tours.

While stationed at West Over Air Force Base in Holyoke, MA he met the love of his life, Jean Mielke, who he was married to for 62 years until she died. They have three children.

His hobbies included playing the guitar and the harmonica which he taught himself how to play at an early age. He also sang country and western music in his younger years and formed his own country and western band. He enjoyed listening to Blue Grass music and was also a Bee Keeper.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and a grandson.

He is survived by his daughters; Cheryl Snook, husband Sonny and Joy Allen, husband Randy; son Hubert Englebert, Jr.; sister Evelyn Vannoy, husband Tom; brother Billy Englebert, wife Dexter; and a grandson, Daniel Allen.

A private graveside service will be held at Sandhills State Veteran’s Cemetery in Spring Lake with full military honors. Rev. Tod Rappe of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate the service.
