Inge Preece Obituary

Inge Schwenzer Preece, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at First Health Hospice in West End, NC, after an unexpected illness.

Inge was born in Mannheim, Germany on June 3, 1935, to Karl Peter and Johanna Schmitt Schwenzer.   She met the love of her life, Cyrus Preece, a soldier stationed in Germany, and they were wed on December 14, 1957.  They were married for 64 years until his passing in 2021.

Inge was a homemaker who loved and cared for her family.  She loved traveling, especially the beach, working in her yard, dancing, walking in her neighborhood, being pampered, and Elvis Presley!

She is predeceased by her husband, Cyrus Smith Preece and great granddaughter, Hannah McDaniel.

She is survived by her son, Bill Preece; daughters, Mary Preece and Lisa Warner and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Julie Sumners and husband, Lee, and Kevin Tromanhauser and wife, Christy; great grandchildren, Natalie King and significant other, Alex, Dustin Tromanhauser, and Johnathan Tromanhauser; great great grandchildren, Reagan Cox and Annaleigh McKinney; sister, Rosita, and brother, Rudy of Germany.

On the afternoon of her passing, her son, Bill, passed away and a joint graveside service will be held.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A joint graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm at Lafayette Memorial Park.
