Ivan Collazo Caraballo, 71, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 22, 2025. He was born on May 4, 1954, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to Juan Collazo and Juana Caraballo.
Ivan proudly served in the United States Army for 22 years, retiring with the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was an AH 64 Armament/Electrical Systems Specialist. A Desert Storm War veteran who also served tours in Korea, Germany, Tunisia and extended duties in Fort Rucker and Fort Eustis His distinguished service earned him numerous awards, including the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, and the Senior Crewmember Badge.
Ivan was the proud and devoted father of his daughter Tabitha Collazo Jones. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching baseball, boxing, and spending time with his family.
Ivan is survived by his daughter Tabitha Collazo Jones, and his siblings Carmen Ofelia Collazo, Gloria Collazo, Wilfredo Collazo, and Luis Manuel Collazo
Ivan will be remembered by his kind heart, extraordinary sense of humor and laughter, and deep pride for his military service.
A funeral service will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. Interment will take place at 12:00 p.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
