Jamey Ruth Smith, 63, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Jamey was born on May 11, 1962, in London, Ohio, and raised by her loving grandparents, Bruce Smith, Sr. and Ferne Holloway Smith.
Jamey proudly served her country in the United States Army for 11 years. Following her military service, she continued her dedication to public service through her work with the United States Postal Service.
She had a passion for gardening, collecting coins, and arts and crafts—especially jewelry making. Jamey was known for her hands-on spirit and took great pride in home improvement projects, restoration work, and even mechanical repairs on her own vehicles. She also found joy in riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Affectionately known as “Olaf” or “Nanna” to her grandchildren, Jamey will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Christin Briscoe, Maurice Briscoe, Ashley Wilson, Vivica Biagas, and Joseph Robertson; and her cherished grandchildren, Tanaya Wilson, Tamarhi Wilson, Taylour Wilson, Taidyn Wilson, Jamih Biagas, Myelle Thompson, and Alaismielle Daniels.
The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A private family service will be held at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home followed by burial at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
