Janet Faye Royal Obituary

Janet Faye Royal, 81, of Wallace, NC went to Heaven Thursday, March 7, 2024, while in her River Landing home.

Faye was born at home in Bethany on April 2, 1942. Her parents were the late James W. and Dorothy B. McKeithan. She was the granddaughter of the late Walter L. and Mocie Bunce of Bethany, NC and Parker and Hallie McKeithan of Fayetteville, NC.

Faye was preceded in death by an infant sister; former husband Linwood Royal; and son-in-law, Doug Gadeberg.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy R. Gadeberg, Wendy’s fiancé, Gary Stephens of Greenville, SC; brothers, Larry J. McKeithan and wife, Debbie of Marianna, FL; W. Lynn McKeithan and wife, Theresa of Cypress, FL; sisters, Diane M. Alabaster and husband, David of Fayetteville, NC, Tami M. Ashworth and husband, Steve of Fuquay-Varina, NC; nephews, Brian McKeithan of Marianna, FL, Lee McKeithan and wife, Ashley of Spanish Fort, AL, Harrison Ashworth and wife, Lillie of Charlotte, NC; nieces, Amanda M. Tyler and husband, John of Spanish Fort, AL, Catherine Ashworth of Los Angeles, CA; great-nephews, Brice McKeithan and Evan McKeithan of Marianna, FL, Graham Tyler and Stone Tyler of Spanish Fort, AL; great-nieces, Mary Tanner McKeithan and Riley McKeithan of Spanish Fort, AL, Lindy Ashworth of Charlotte, NC; uncle, Dr. Dearl L. Bunce of Lexington, NC; aunt, Virginia Page of Shallotte, NC; and many cousins.  She loved them all dearly.

Faye graduated from Stedman High School in 1961. She retired in 2015 as a Patient Accounts Supervisor at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC.

From infancy, Faye attended Center Baptist Church, her teen years were at Stedman Baptist Church, and as an adult, she was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.  She followed Franklin Graham and the ministries of Samaritan’s Purse.  Faye loved the LORD, family, and friends.  She had a servant’s heart and always put others before herself.      She went about her day sharing smiles, wisdom, and kindness to everyone in her path.  She was trained in voice and piano, talented in floral and interior design, enjoyed working in her yard, feeding her hummingbirds, the FARM, laughter, music, family beach trips and working on Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.  Faye will be profoundly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Giles Blankenship.  Following the service, everyone is invited to a Gathering at the home of David and Diane Alabaster, 100 Dobbin Ave., Fayetteville, NC. 28305
