Jean (Crumpler) Catlett

Jean Crumpler Catlett, 92, of Fayetteville, NC, died peacefully with her family around her on Friday, August 16, 2024, at her residence.

Jean was born February 10, 1932, in Sampson County, NC, to the late Rolen Crumpler and Ruth McLamb.  She retired as a teacher’s assistant.  

She loved her family more than anything and is survived by her son, Joseph N. Catlett, Jr. (Marie); daughter, Melody C. Buzalewski (Tom); sister, Katrina C. Thornton; grandchildren, Sean Catlett, Christine Lamb, Cory Laidlaw, Brady Catlett, Joseph N. Catlett, III, Jennifer Grow, Luke Buzalewski, Lauren Buzalewski, and Matthew Buzalewski; great-grandchildren, Ezra Lamb, Millie Lamb, Eloise Lamb, Bennett Catlett, Riley Catlett, Miles Catlett, Brooks Catlett, Mara Catlett, Maggie Grow, and Anabel Grow.  

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph N. Catlett, Sr. and sisters, Nona Dean and Barbara Rogers.  

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3200 Scotty Hill Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28303, with a service beginning at 9:30 a.m.  Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
