Jean (Peal) Crowell

Mrs. Jean Peal Crowell, 93, of Fayetteville, NC died November 6, 2021 in her home.  She was born on April 1, 1928 to the late Nell and Bernard Peal of Chadbourn, NC.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. Crowell.

Jean was a graduate of Woman’s College in Greensboro, NC where she made many lasting friends.  She went on to teach elementary school for many years.  Her love of teaching was great, but her love of her family and church was greater.  She has been a member of Haymount United Methodist Church since 1950 and even attended her Sunday School class last Sunday via telephone.  She started each morning in prayer and announced that “This is the day the Lord hath made!  Let us rejoice in it!”  And then she focused forward with a very positive and joyful attitude.

She is survived by daughters Jean Clark of Raleigh, Tricia Everett (Richard) of Fayetteville, grandsons Rus Clark (Laura) of New Bern, Will Warner (Molly) of Pinehurst, Reid Clark (Natascha) of Raleigh, and Scott Warner (Joanna) of Holly Springs.  She cherished her great grandchildren Caroline Clark, Charlotte Clark, Elizabeth Warner, Kate Warner, and Walker Clark.

Her funeral service will be Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Haymount United Methodist Church followed by burial at LaFayette Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in the Commons Room prior to the service from 1:00-2:00.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers supplied by Home Instead with a special thank you to Carolyn Woodson who was with her until her passing.
