Jerry Michael Davis

CSM (Ret.) Jerry Michael Davis, 75, of Fayetteville, formerly of New Bern, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at his home.

Jerry was born December 26, 1948, in Durham, NC to Onnie Edward Davis and Daisy Belle Hewett Davis.  In addition to his parents, Jerry is predeceased by his brother, Wayne Davis. He is survived by his son, Dax Davis and wife, Leonna; brother, Doug Davis; grandsons, Henry and Brock Davis; and nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends and loved ones.

Jerry retired from the US Army National Guard in 2008 as a Command Sergeant Major after 32 years of faithful and honorable service.  He was a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm.  He received multiple awards and commendations including the Meritorious Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, and the Army Reserve Overseas Training Ribbon.  He was a graduate of Durham Technical Institute with an Associate degree in Dental Laboratory Technology and was a National Board-Certified Dental Technician.  In addition to his military service, he was a Civil Service Dental Laboratory Technician. He was a member of the American Legion, a certified US Merchant Marine Officer, and a member of Tau Eta Sigma (Professional Dental Technical Fraternity).  Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, dancing, skeet shooting, and most of all spending time with his beloved grandsons.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 3 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home directly following the service. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.
