Jimmy L. Henley, Jr., 55, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side.
Jimmy was born on January 28, 1968, in Germany to Jimmy L. Henley, Sr. and the late Linda Stubbs Henley.
Jimmy was self-employed as a private investigator and began his career as a Spring Lake Police Officer before becoming the Chief of Detectives. He also worked with the City-County Bureau of Narcotics. He later joined his dad’s business before starting his own business, Investigative Solutions, where he worked until he was diagnosed with an acute illness.
He enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles, dirt track racing and boating in the Intercoastal Waterway. His hobbies were tinkering with his boat and football. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and would cancel any engagements on Sunday to watch them play. He was known for always joking and making others laugh.
Jimmy was dedicated to being a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sharon Ames Henley; daughter, Dr. Kaitlyn Carpenter, and husband Dylan; father, Jimmy L. Henley Sr.; sister, Teresa Butler and husband Ricky; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were all very special to him.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Jernigan-Warren Chapel on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. A burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
