Jose Roberto Contreras Carcamo, afectuosamente conocido como “Papi” falleció el 4o de Marzo 2024 en Fayetteville, NC. Jose viene de San Salvador, El Salvador y terminó la vida a los 84 años. Era un amado papá, esposo, abuelo, y bisabuelo.

Jose era un hombre fuerte y amable que estaba dedicado a su familia. Se graduó de contabilidad antes de trabajar en las cuentas y como oficial de salud para el Ministerio de Salud de El Salvador. Más tarde en su vida, Jose tuvo trabajos sencillos como en el Compare Foods o Chick-Fil-A para tener tiempo para apoyar a sus once nietos.

A Jose le encantó la música, bailar, tomarse un café rico, el fútbol, salir a caminar a sus nietos, y películas. También era un miembro dedicado de la Iglesia Northwood, donde sería su servicio funerario a las 2 pm este Domingo, el 10 de Marzo. La visita será el Sábado, 9 de Marzo desde las 6-9 pm en el Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home en Fayetteville, NC.

A Jose le sobrevive su querida esposa de 57 años, Alicia Esperanza Zelaya-Contreras, sus hijos; Maria Alicia Zelaya-Contreras, Mario Adalberto Amaya, y Anna Ruth Chavez, sus 11 nietos and 11 bisnietos.Le precedió en la muerte su hijo, Egon Manuel Roberto Contreras-Zelaya.

Jose Roberto Contreras Carcamo, affectionately known as “Papi” passed away on March 4th, 2024 in Fayetteville NC. Originally from San Salvador, El Salvador, he transitioned at 84 years old. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Jose was a loveable and strong man who was resolute in being the center of his family. He graduated with an accounting degree before he worked as an accountant and health official for the Ministry of Health of El Salvador. Later in life, he worked simpler jobs like at Compare Foods or Chick-Fil-A to be there for his 11 grandchildren and help raise them.

Jose enjoyed music, dancing, a good coffee, soccer, long walks, and movies in his free time. Jose was also a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 54 years. He was a dedicated member of Iglesia Northwood, where his funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 10th. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm on Saturday, March 9th, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC.

Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Alicia Esperanza Zelaya-Contreras; his Children, Maria Alicia Zelaya-Contreras, Mario Adalberto Amaya, and Anna Ruth Chavez; his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Egon Manuel Roberto Contreras-Zelaya.
