Joseph Bryan Hobgood

Joseph Bryan Hobgood, 62, of Lillington, NC, formerly of Fayetteville, NC, died suddenly in his home on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Bryan was born in Fayetteville to Linwood Truett Hobgood, Sr., and Emily Haley Hobgood.  He graduated from Reid Ross High School before attending Gardner-Webb College.  Bryan began his work career out of college with Kelly Springfield Tire Company, now known as Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.  After 30 years of service he retired.

He enjoyed gardening and caring for his animals after his retirement.

Bryan was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Sue Hobgood; mother-in-law, Diosdada A Bumanglag; father-in-law, Agripino D. Bumanglag; and sisters-in-law, Anita B. Telimban and Lilia B. Odchique.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Helen Hobgood; siblings, Kathryn H. Clark (Kirk) of Whiteville, NC; Martha H. Ellington of Raleigh, NC; Linwood Hobgood, Jr. (Ann) of Fayetteville; Sam Hobgood (Lynn) of Cedar Grove, NC; Richard Hobgood (Kathryn) of Wilmington, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 2 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home followed by A Celebration of Life service at 2 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.
