Kenneth Lee Knight, 90, of Fayetteville, NC went to his eternal home on, April 9, 2024.

Kenneth was born August 29, 1933, in Darlington, MD, to the late Paul R. Knight and Bessie H. Knight.  Kenneth was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He proudly served the Department of Defense for 20 years. His service took him to places around the world, including Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. Upon retiring, he began a second career with Borden Chemical.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sakiko N. Knight; sons, David L. Knight and Rickey D. Knight (Stephanie); daughters, Barbara Taylor (Johnny) and Janet Mooney (David); nine grandchildren, Dallas,  Anthony, Craig,  Ashley, Joni, Tiffany, Shyann, and Hadley; seven great-grandchildren, Tori, Landon, Julia, Hayden, Maddox, Olivia, and Hendrix; and his sister, Jane Hungerford. Kenneth is  preceeded in death by his brothers, Paul T. Knight, Donald E. Knight, Virgil " Bucky" Knight; his sister, Janice K. Fortson; his grandson, Matthew D. Knight; and his brother in law, Dennis Hungerford.

Kenneth enjoyed attending New Life Pentecostal Church,  fishing, fast cars, golfing, collecting coins, working all hours in his garage, watching Jeopardy and Let's Make a Deal, working in his perfectly maintained yard, taking care of his chickens,  and most of all sitting on his front porch watching his grandchildren and great-granchildren play, all while sharing stories with his family and friends. Kenneth never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 12:40 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, with a service beginning at 12:50 p.m. in the Chapel.  Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Liberty, NC.
