Kenneth Pierce Obituary

 

LTC (Ret) Kenneth R. Pierce, 74, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Southeastern Medical Center in Lumberton.

Kenneth was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 24, 1946, to Raymond R. and Lillian Pierce.

He was a Vietnam Veteran, receiving 2 Purple Heart awards, and retired after 25 years as a Lieutenant Colonel.  He also retired from Civil Service as an Analyst.

Kenneth was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a true soldier.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Josephine “Jo” Pierce; daughters, Colleen Krauss and husband, Danny, and Veronica Arnold and husband, David; 3 grandchildren, Jessica Krauss, Daniel Krauss and Ryan Arnold; brothers, Joseph Pierce and Raymond Pierce and wife, Donna; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2 to 4 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, at 10:30 at the Main Post Chapel on Ft. Bragg.  Burial will follow with Military Honors at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
