LaNeice K. Wilson

LaNeice K. Wilson passed away on April 23, 2023 in Concord, North Carolina at the age of 46.

LaNeice was born in the month of April to Diane and Gregory Wilson in Brooklyn, New York.

In 1995, she graduated from Middletown High School in Middletown, New York. She earned a degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island.

After graduating, LaNeice explored careers in New York within the food industry; Volunteers of America ,the Glen Arden Community and Au Bon Pain as a chef. While talking to her mother and sharing how unsure she was of her path ,Mom said “you have until 30 to figure it out”.

Being the adventurous and multitalented spirit she was, at 28, LaNeice moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina and took over her parents future retirement home. Here she continued working in the food industry (Classic Foods). It was there she met her soulmate Derrick Bowens. They began dating with the intention of building a life together, filled with beautiful experiences and memories. Path decided; Total career change. She became an employee of the city of Fayetteville; the school, transit and sanitation systems.

LaNeice loved traveling, all genres of music, spending family time, reading and of course, her niece Aubrey. She made a commitment to herself to overcome her fear of heights by ziplining through the jungle in Mexico, riding roller coasters in amusement parks, etc.

LaNeice was preceded in death by her dad, Gregory Wilson; aunts, Donna Simmons and Linda Chapman; and uncles, Lunon Wilson and Gerald, Reginald and Gregory Williams.

She leaves to cherish and honor her life and memory her mom, Diane Wilson; sisters, Marissa Brannon (Nathan) and Macheka Williams-Roach (Jermaine); her true love, Derrick Bowens; nieces, Aubrey and Cameryn; aunts, Deborah Williams, Margie and Wanda Wilson; uncles, March Jr.(Stephanie), Julius Wilson, Geoffrey(Tanya), Lorenzo, Eric Williams, Ray Martin (Diane), and a host of family and friends.

LaNeice was loved by many and respected by all.

The family will receive friends from noon until 12:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel..
