Lenora Cathrine (Melvin) Mullins

Lenora Cathrine Mullins, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, just weeks after celebrating her 100th birthday.

Born June 15, 1925, in Fayetteville, NC, Lenora graduated from Seventy-First High School and began a long life of service and adventure. She managed a Post Exchange at Fort Bragg, worked with the FBI in Washington, D.C., and proudly served in the U.S. Army. After marrying, she left the military and returned to Fort Bragg as a civil servant until her retirement.

Lenora was known for her strength, independence, and sense of humor. She had a deep love for movies and rarely missed a new release in theaters. She also had a lifelong passion for travel, embracing new places and experiences with enthusiasm.

A woman of quiet faith, Lenora was a longtime member of Village Baptist Church and an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Mack H. Mullins; her son, Stephen B. Mullins and wife Laura; her sister, Mary Miller; two grandchildren Kimberly and Graham; seven  great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Mullins.

The visitation will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey St.
