Liliana DeLorenzo Obituary

Liliana “Lily” DeLorenzo, 88, of Fayetteville, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family.

Lily was born on May 19, 1937, in Trieste, Italy, to the late Ferruccio Dell’Angelo and Maria Bellina Dell’Angelo. She endured the hardships of World War II during her early years, experiences that shaped her resilience and deep appreciation for family and peace. While visiting Germany, she met the love of her life, Frank DeLorenzo, during a game of BINGO. Their connection was immediate. Frank followed her back to Italy, and soon after, Lily became a proud War Bride, beginning a beautiful new chapter in the United States.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Lily was the heart of her family. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and found joy in tending her flowers and garden, as well as cooking delicious Italian meals — her love best expressed through homemade dishes shared around the family table.

Lily worked as a hair stylist for over 40 years at Head to Toe, where she was not only a skilled professional but a friend to many in her community. Her clients and coworkers were like extended family, and she took pride in helping others feel beautiful.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank DeLorenzo; her daughter, Mary Frances DeLorenzo Knight; and her three siblings. She was the last surviving of four children.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Anthony DeLorenzo and wife Cathy; daughter, Patricia Morris and husband Billy; grandchildren, Candace DeLorenzo, Carolina DeLorenzo, Cayla DeLorenzo, Austin DeLorenzo, Nicole Egan and husband Aaron, and Danielle Morgan and husband Montrell; great-grandchildren, Abel Egan, Arbor Egan, Winslow Egan, Jude Egan, Elijah Morgan, and Ava Brielle Morgan.

Lily also leaves behind her dear friend Karen Simkins, and cherished friends Liz Stuart, Beth O’Leary, and Marilia Gannon, who lovingly visited her and shared communion with her when she could no longer attend Mass.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday November 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from  10 a.m. -10:50 a.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
