It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lois D Downer, who went to be with Jesus on June 21, 2024 at the age of 75. Lois was born on March 17, 1949, in Wade, to the late Rev. Telford “Ted” Dudley and the late Eloise Horne, both of Wade.
She was a proud graduate of Central High School and went on to become a licensed real estate agent and successful entrepreneur. However, her true passion lay in her faith and dedication to serving others. Lois was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. She dedicated her life to her church, Calvary Holiness Church, where she selflessly volunteered her time and resources to help those in need and spread the message of God's love. Lois's kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire us all.
Lois was preceded in death by her sister Mary Evelyn Turner and brother-in-law Jesse James Turner, Jr., twin grandsons, and other grandbabies.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, David Downer, and her sister Faye Dudley, and her three children: a son, David Downer Jr and wife Lori, along with their children: Alex, Jeremy and Mikayla, a daughter, Donna Velazquez and husband Peter, along with their children: Jade, Hailey, Lexi, Chase, Maxímo and Ariéla and a son, Daryl Downer and wife Cammie, as well as their children: Kaleb, Katelyn, Levi and Aleina.
Lois will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and loving presence in the lives of all who knew her.
