MSG (Ret) William (Bill) Joseph Culbertson, 72 of Fayetteville, passed away on April 13, 2021.
Bill was born August 30, 1948 in Panama City, Florida. He grew up as an Air Force “brat” before joining the US Army to continue his adventures. He married his wife, Janet, in November 1969 in Germany. After he retired from the Army in 1992, he worked at Fayetteville Christian School for the next twenty years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lt. Col. (ret.) Omar William and Beatrice Culbertson as well as a sister, Gail Hurst.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janet, and by his two sons, Brian (Mandy) and William, and grandchildren, Ryan (Myra), Ethan, and Allie Jo. He is also survived by his brother, David (Linda), sisters, Beatrice Culbertson, Patricia Koch, and Karen Ho (Terry) as well as many nieces and nephews.
There was nothing Bill liked better than an interesting conversation with a good (or new) friend. Bill could have an engaging conversation with anyone. He also would go above and beyond to help everyone with anything they needed. You could always count on Bill to be there.
His most treasured moments were spending time with his grandchildren and family camping.
